It is with great delight that we welcome Dayle Lucas into the business as Apprentice Network and IT Assistant.
21-year-old Dayle has achieved a distinction in Engineering and Web Development and previously worked for the Knowhow Warehouse, a company specialising in all areas of technology. Dayle will provide frontline technical support for our staff as part of our IT team. He will assist Aarsleff’s network supervisor Simon Pick by providing regular checks on servers and performing hardware and software checks, helping to keep the firm’s 160 staff members connected to their customers.
Heather Jones, Business and HR Manager of Aarsleff Ground Engineering said she was pleased to welcome Dayle to the team and to give him an opportunity to learn on the job through the apprenticeship scheme. She said:
“The apprenticeship scheme has brought real benefits to our workplace. As a business, we are pleased to support the next generation and give them a chance to develop their careers.”
Dayle said he would recommend the apprenticeship scheme to other young people:
“I found out about the scheme online. I am looking forward to the gaining a lot more experience within IT”
Apprentices are very eager and motivated. They give a tremendous and worthwhile amount back to the company. Aarsleff is a busy organisation working in a demanding, fast-paced industry so ensuring that all IT systems are running smoothly is imperative. We wanted to expand and also to give a chance to a talented young person, and Dayle has rose to the challenge admirably.
