Aarsleff Ground Engineering, one of the UK’s leading geotechnical and foundation contractors, are delighted to be shortlisted in the 2019 Construction News Specialists Awards in the category ‘Project of the Year by a Specialist Contractor’ for the multidisciplinary ground engineering work it completed at Rochdale Riverside in August 2018.
The project, part of a new retail and leisure park, is a significant achievement demonstrating company progression at its finest. Two years ago, Aarsleff would have been only able to deliver the precast piling. Today, Aarsleff has delivered an exceptional project that encapsulates the day to day activities that Aarsleff are undertaking and the breadth and depth that they can offer. Comprising the installation of Driven Precast Concrete Piling, CFA, King Post Wall and Ground Anchors, this project marks a total group package that came together for what was initially specified as just CFA and Sheet Piling.
Speaking about Aarsleff’s shortlisting, Kevin Hague, UK Managing Director said:
“Aarsleff sees great value in these awards, and to be shortlisted as a finalist is an amazing achievement for the company. Riverside Rochdale is one of our finest multi-discipline projects of the year, and demonstrates our hard work and commitment as a geotechnical specialist and not just a piling contractor.”
Ashley Carter, Senior Technical Estimator said:
“We were able to deliver a four-phased groundworks package, far exceeding the projects’ original requirements. We avoided subletting any of the work, allowing us to optimise project delivery, while taking full responsibility for its successful completion. I’m delighted that this particular project will be recognised and celebrated at the CN Specialist Awards next year”.
For Aarsleff’s clients, using a single point of service for all the foundation work saves time and money and ensures that projects can be managed effectively and safely on site. Ross Mitchell, Senior Design Manager at Willmott Dixon said:
“Communication is essential to any project, but Aarsleff Ground Engineering demonstrated real proactive engagement from the get-go. Aarsleff delivered first rate customer care throughout the duration of this project, from the initial enquiry stage to design and operations”.
The Construction News Specialists Awards, now in their 15th year, recognise the outstanding achievements of specialist contractors, with it being the only national awards to do so.
Aarsleff will now progress on to the next stage where they will present on the project to the judges, who have been drawn from the UK’s largest construction firms and leaders of some the country’s major projects.
