InfrastructureDrilling and grouting contractor Aarsleff Ground Engineering were appointed in November 2019 by Seddon Construction Ltd to deliver a mineshaft treatment package that formed part of a wider housing development scheme to include 63 plots. Two mineshafts required treatment and capping prior to constructing the residential building on the site.
Aarsleff utilised a shaft frame and one drilling rig for treatment of both shafts by sinking 3 probe holes into two shafts to 20m bgl (10m below the mud stone horizon) and infilling with 10:1 PFA/OPC using ascending stage grouting technique. (68No. 10m long nominal 75mm diameter holes utilising consolidation grouting).
