Project Description

Data 1436 250sq mm driven precast concrete piles
Client  Countryside Properties
Type of contract  Design and build contract
Construction period  October 2022 – January 2024

The old market town of Highbridge in Somerset is conveniently located, offering quick access to both Bristol and Exeter for its residents. Over the past two years, Countryside Properties have been developing a major scheme in the area to facilitate a range of 2, 3, and 4 bedroom homes.

Over four visits spanning a 15 month period between October 2022 and January 2024, Aarsleff have installed a total of 1436 driven precast concrete piles to act as foundations for the new homes. These visits have been coordinated to ensure that overall project programme can be well maintained without idling or affecting follow on trade.

This is one of the key reasons why precast concrete driven piles are an optimal solution for residential developments. As Aarsleff manage their own supply chain, the ability to offer just in time delivery of piles to site ensures that programmes can be managed without needed large storage areas on site.
