CLIENT: DES Build

CONTRACT: Design and build

CONSTRUCTION PERIOD: July 2023

In July 2023, Aarsleff mobilised to site in Erdington, Birmingham to implement a scheme to replace a failed timber retaining wall on site. Working for DES Build, Aarsleff were able to not only install a new king post wall system to ensure the stability of the site but all enabling and delivery works as well which provided flexibility and savings to the client.

By engaging early with Aarsleff, our client benefitted from value-engineering. We optimised the span by adjusting the backfill material level which meant through effective operations and design coordination, we were also successfully and safely able to bridge across live services. Our design engineers not only created a detailed king post wall design but also carried out slope stability analysis, allowing for in-depth understanding of site by all parties.
