St Helens, North-East of England

Location: North-East of England, UK

Aarsleff spent 14 weeks working with Bowmer and Kirkland to construct a large scale piling job for commercial sheds in the North-East of England. It was one of the largest piling jobs Aarsleff have completed in the last 10 years. The job consisted of 14,588 precast piles and 8 Junttan PM20/22 Rigs. With hard work and excellent production from the site team, Aarsleff achieving practical completion 4 weeks ahead of the programme.

Bristol XL, Bristol

Location: Avonmouth, Bristol, UK

Working for ISG, Aarsleff's Driven Piling division installed an estimated 15,216 driven precast concrete piles in September 2022 using five of Aarsleff’s Junttan piling rigs. The work continues with a projected project timeline of 18 weeks, finishing in February 2023. The project consisted of around 190,000 linear metres of precast concrete piles, manufactured by Centrum Pile. Aarsleff also provided CO2e data for the piles installed and their transport to site from Centrum’s factory in Newark.

Skegness TEC, Lincolnshire

Location: Skegness, Lincolnshire, UK

In April 2024, Aarsleff were on site in Skegness, delivering foundations for the new further and higher education facility in the area. The college has been founded on driven precast concrete piles and Aarsleff installed 298 piles to form the foundations. 257 250 sq mm driven precast concrete piles and 41 300 sqmm piles were installed over a period of nine working days.

Giant Warehouses, Bristol

Location: Avonmouth, Bristol, UK

Between June and August 2021, we delivered major piling works across three large-scale plots for six distribution warehouses on behalf of global construction specialist, ISG Ltd. Aarsleff was subcontracted to manage and deliver the challenging installation of up to 5066No. precast concrete piles using three of Aarsleff’s Junttan piling rigs.

Mill House Leisure Centre, Durham

Location: Hartlepool, Durham, UK

Between February and April 2024, Aarsleff were chosen as the main piling contractor for the Mill House Leisure Centre scheme in Hartlepool to create a new, purposely built leisure centre. The groundworks package was a combination of enabling works and foundations, including sheet piling and driven precast concrete piling. In total, 133 sheet piles were installed to form a cantilever cofferdam and 476 driven precast concrete piles were installed to found the building.

New Grain Store Unit, Lincolnshire

Location: North Coates, Lincolnshire, UK

In January 2024, Aarsleff Ground Engineering mobilised to a site in North East Lincolnshire. Working for Harrison Eastoft Ltd, we were tasked with the installation of 231 driven precast concrete piles in order to found a new grain store unit. The work took place over a period of eight working days, with a total of 231 250 sq mm driven precast concrete piles installed.

New Paper Mill, Flintshire

Location: Deeside, Flintshire, UK

In June 2022, Aarsleff were appointed with a large scale piling project in North Wales, in order o found a new paper mill to facilitate more domestic manufacturing of paper. Aarsleff were sent an initial design, which suggested the installation of over 18,000 piles with large section sizes. Aarsleff reviewed this design, suggesting an alternative following analysis by our experienced design engineers which reduced the number of piles to 8,500 piles.

Derby Logistics Park, Derbyshire

Location: Derby, Derbyshire, UK

Between June and August 2023, Aarsleff completed the installation of 2,612 300 sq mm driven precast concrete piles in order to found new industrial warehouses in Derby. Through effective design and efficient operations, Aarsleff finished the piling ahead of programme after 9 weeks of working with three rigs in limited space. Our team worked hard to maintain high rates of production alongside changing pile lengths, working efficiently with our in-house production facility to ensure supply was maintained.

Redhills, Durham

Location: Durham, UK

Between January and February 2024, Aarsleff were approached by by Absolute Civil Engineering to complete a contiguous pile wall as part of the full restoration of the Grade II-listed hall located in the Redhills, Durham. In total, 40 450 mm dia sectional flight auger piles were installed to 9m depths to form the wall and a further 35 300 mm dia bearing piles were installed to 9m.
