Aarsleff Ground Engineering had a great evening at the Federation of Piling Specialists (FPS) annual awards 2019, where its Safety, Training, Environment & Quality (STEQ) manager Robert Speakman received the Chairman’s Award in recognition of his ‘outstanding contributions and excellent service to the Federation’
Robert has been attending the FPS Safety and Training Forum meetings since 2006 and took over as chairman of this Forum in June 2013. Over the years Robert has encouraged a collaborative approach amongst the 21 FPS member companies and has actively been involved in numerous working groups and initiatives aimed at improving Occupational Health, Safety and Training standards within the piling industry.
On receiving the award, Robert said:
It is an honour to receive this award. Being recognised by my peers is a great honour for myself personally and one that I will take pride in. All the extra work often put in outside of my day job with Aarsleff has hopefully made a positive difference.
Aarsleff Ground Engineering’s Managing Director, Kevin Hague, added saying,
The knowledge and expertise Robert has brought to Aarsleff and the wider UK has been extremely valuable for the piling industry. Our membership with the FPS has enabled us to get involved in resolving technical challenges within the industry and improving piling safety, allowing us to provide our clients with more confidence in our ground engineering solutions.
