Residential Piling contractor Aarsleff Ground Engineering has been awarded two contracts from Coalville-based developer David Wilson Homes.

  • The first of these contracts is to provide the foundations for a 407-unit residential development and sports and leisure facilities – including the construction of a new pavilion, new changing rooms and parking area on the former Manchester Metropolitan University Campus in Alsager.  This will involve the installation of 2,277 No. driven precast piles between 8-12m depth and the construction of 7,148m of precast concrete ground beam.
  • The second of the contracts is as part of the Stapeley Water Gardens development, which is located off A51 London Road, just southeast of Nantwich and involves the installation of 306 No. driven precast piles and 1,292m of Centrum precast concrete ground beam with the aid of one of its 55T cranes to form part of the foundations of a new 74-unit residential development between Edison Bell Way and Ferrars Road in Huntington, Cambridgeshire on behalf of Ipswich-based Aspen Build.

To facilitate the installation of the ground beam, the specialist employed its Banut 300 piling rig to install a total of 388 No. driven precast piles.
