Rainwater Harvesting

Centrum Pile at our facility in Newark harvest rainwater for use in our concrete mix.

We care about the environment in all its forms and recognise that concern for the environment should be an integral and fundamental part of its business. In our sister factory Centrum, the Harvester collects all the rain water from our curing chamber that can hold up to 75,000 litres of water. All the fresh water used daily to wash out our mixers is then recycled into our concrete mix. One typical day sees Aarsleff use 13,000 litres of recyclable water!

✳️ We harvest the rainwater from the roof of our 2,400m² pile curing chamber along with the rain water from the roof of our 900m² SAMM Shed.

✳️ The tank that holds our harvested rain water holds up to 75,000 litres.

✳️ We average around 1,000m³ of concrete per week which consumes around 180,000 litres of water.

✳️ We also recycle the water used during the clean down / wash out process from both of our concrete batching plants.
