Ground Beams

Aarsleff Ground Engineering mobilised its rig to site in Alsager, Cheshire on the 12th March, with the ground beam team onsite from the 13th. Once the rig had installed the piles to the first plot, the team started the process of excavating the levels to the plots and garages and preparing the piles for the beam installation. This resulted in the beam plant working in the same area as the rig, with coordination and communication of both operations key to a safe working environment.

The beam team took cut-off levels from an offset given to them by the setting out engineer, which meant they could transfer levels and cut the 119No 200mm square diameter piles quicker, rather than relying on additional engineer attendance.

All 4No. plots with associated garages were piled and prepped ready for the installation of 366m of Centrum ground beam which started on Wednesday 21st March and lasted for 3 days. Grouting was completed on the 26th March and plots handed over to the client.
