As part of Hospice Care week (5th – 11th October), staff at Aarsleff Ground Engineering got involved in the ‘Be Bright Blue for Beaumond House’ fundraiser. Beaumond House Hospice is a community hospice in Newark. Why blue? Blue is the colour of Beaumond House.
The same campaign ran for the first time last year and raised more than £6,000. Aarsleff and many other supporting businesses hope to smash that target this year.
Beaumond House Hospice provides care for over 500 patients each year, and offer support to their families. They can care for up to 150 patients at any one time. They will require around £1,000,000 this year alone to continue offering this level of support. Around 25% of this is provided by the NHS, whilst the remainder is funded by the community of Newark and the surrounding area.
Armed with blue Beaumond House balloons, blue painted nails, blue clothes and lots of enthusiasm – Aarsleff Ground Engineering enjoyed fundraising on Friday the 14th October! Thank you to everyone who donated and to all staff members who donned their bluest clothes! Together we were able to raise a whopping £173.12 for Beaumond House.
