Driven piling for Warehouse in Port of Salford

The Port of Salford Warehouse is a multi-million pound commercial project being built at the National Import Centre by the Peel Land & Property Group and is the UK’s first tri-modal inland port facility and distribution park, accessible by mainline rail, motorway and inland waterway. Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd awarded the £600,000 foundation works contract to Aarsleff Ground Engineering, requiring them to install approximately 3700, 250-mm square driven precast concrete piles, of lengths between 4 and 14-metres, using a class D joint. Aarsleff also undertook approximately 120 dynamic pile tests in lieu of static load tests.
